Jeffrey Guy, MD, Christopher Mazoue, MD, and Jason Stacy, MD, all were speakers at the Update in Orthopaedic Sports Medicine 2008 Conference held at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center on December 5-6, 2008. The Update in Orthopaedic Sports Medicine Conference is an annual meeting that draws Athletic Trainers, Physicians, Physical Therapists, Nurses, and other allied medical health professions, as well as, Coaches and Athletic Directors. This event is sponsored by The University of South Carolina School of Medicine – Palmetto Health Richland Continuing Medical Education Organization in conjunction with the USC Sports Medicine Center and Moore Orthopaedics.
Jason Stacy, MD-Family Medicine, started the second day of the conference speaking in a roundtable discussion on : Pre-Participation Physicals: Primary Care Physicians or Mass Effort? Dr. Guy spoke on Elbow Injuries in the Throwing Athlete and Dr. Mazoue rounded out the USC Sports Medicine contingent with his talk on Current Concepts on Upper Extremity Dislocations.
All three physicians are part of the USC Sports Medicine Center. Dr. Guy and Dr. Mazoue are team orthopaedic surgeons for the University of South Carolina, and Dr. Stacy provides primary care coverage of University of South Carolina Athletics.
