Biography

Dr. Ramon Ylanan, a graduate of the University of Virginia, joined the faculty of the University of South Carolina School of Medicine in 2008, after completing a primary care sports medicine fellowship at Andrews Sports Medicine and Orthopedic Center (American Sports Medicine Institute) in Birmingham, Alabama.  He earned his Doctor of Medicine from Ross University School of Medicine, and completed his Family Medicine residency with the Department of Family and Community Medicine at the University of Missouri-Columbia, serving as Chief Resident during his third year.

Dr. Ylanan, in addition to being certified through the American Board of Family Medicine, holds a Certificate of Added Qualification in Primary Care Sports Medicine.  He is married to Melissa Ylanan, and has one son, Andres.
