Biography
A native of California, Jeffrey Guy, M.D. received his medical degree, magna cum laude, from Harvard University School of Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts in 1994. Prior to a sports medicine fellowship at the American Sports Medicine Institute in Birmingham, Alabama (2000-2001), he held two fellowships in Boston, Massachusetts, which included a trauma fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital (1999) and a pediatric sports medicine fellowship at Children’s Hospital (2000). In 2001, Dr. Guy became Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine.
Dr. Guy’s sports medicine experience includes a long list of athletic coverage, including assistant team physician for Auburn University and the University of Alabama Dr. Guy is currently company physician for the Columbia City Ballet, and is the founder of the South Carolina SMART program (Sports Medicine for Athletes And Recreational Teams), which serves more than 25 high schools and middle schools in the greater Columbia area. Dr. Guy is currently team physician and orthopaedic surgeon for several high school and college teams, most notably the University of South Carolina Gamecocks. He currently serves as Medical Director for the University of South Carolina athletic programs.
