Biography
Christopher G. Mazoué, M.D. attended Cornell University, where he received a bachelor of Arts degree in Economics. After receiving his medical degree from Louisiana State University School of Medicine, New Orleans, Lousiana, he completed his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. Dr. Mazoué then completed a fellowship in Sports Medicine at the American Sports Medicine Institute in Birmingham, Alabama, under the guidance of renowned orthopaedic surgeons, James Andrews, M.D. and William Clancy, M.D. He is currently an Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine.
With extensive experience caring for athletes at all levels, Dr. Mazoué has treated patients from youth to professional leagues. Through the USC Sports Medicine Center, he provides care for numerous local middle schools, high schools and colleges, including the University of South Carolina, South Carolina State, and Benedict College. He is a team physician for the University of South Carolina Gamecocks. In addition to sports injuries, he has specific interests in cartilage repair surgery and minimally invasive arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder, elbow and knee.
